Think for just a moment about all the websites you’ve visited over the years . . . Now, think about all the errors you’ve noticed in all those sites—what did you think about a site after you found numerous misspellings, sloppily written sentences, or an illogical presentation? Did you hire that service or buy that product?
Now that every business and organization needs a website, you might as well have one that you control, that allows you to make web page changes and website updates if and when you want to and a system that makes doing so relatively easy. Contact me today and we can get started as soon as you’re ready.
Planning your website
I’ll walk you through the process of planning and designing your website, of course, but in getting ready, you should start thinking about what you want your site plan to include. For example, the standard components of a website include
- a home page for introducing your company, your products or services, your workforce;
- some specialty pages for detailed descriptions of your products and services, your workforce, and your goals;
- a sidebar that contains information for customers and visitors;
- links to blog posts and social media entries; and
- a contact page.
In addition, you might want some web pages or elements that are not so standard:
- an online catalog;
- a shopping cart;
- a survey or two, for different purposes;
- a countdown timer; and maybe
- a scheduling calendar.
Together, we will discuss whatever contents and links you think you might want your website to have; we’ll weigh the pros and cons and options; and we’ll build your needs into a schedule and budget that works for you.
Get in touch, though—you won’t know what we can do for you if you never ask us or tell us what you’re thinking!
